In honor of Italian Heritage Month, NoHo Gallery LA

as well as Italian and italian-American artists of all
mediums in " Viva I'Italia " group show October thru
November 11, 2006.

" Our goal for October is to slowly show that 'guidos,
gumbas and gangsters' are not the Italian tradition...
ART is. The Italian persona is diverse and each artist
in the exhibit demonstrates a unique art perspective
using different mediums and portraying varying
subject matter... creating their own traditions ",

OUR BOYS
OF SUMMER

Our wonderful Dodgers did not get to the winning
thing this season but since they are always our
winners we love them forever. These pics were
taken while I went up to the gift shop up at the top
of Dodger Stadium to get matching his & her T's
for family Gladys & Sean.
"FOLLOW THE BLUE LINE" the guard said and
I did that, enjoyed the views of L.A. [ below ],
got my goods and enjoyed my stadium
while Practice was going on the field and viewing
the THINK BLUE sign off on the hillside.

• ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
WILD WILD WEST 1950's

I went to primary school in Noho, then just known
with the gentle name North Hollywood.
Victory Blvd. El. down from Laurel Cyn. is where
I spent my first 7 years from Kgn to 6.
In those years I saw everything from tanks on trucks,
U-2 aircraft built at nearby Lockheed Airport,
now Bob Hope Airport, and even Naplam bombs
drive by on trucks. The school district also
provided many times of non-classroom fun.
There was the usual bus trips to L.A. City Hall
and Olvera Street and Manfull Dairy in Pacoima.
Ah, I can still smell those dairy cows, anyway,
many Events came to the school such as the Sears
sponsered Animal Trucks that would bring the zoo
to school. The LAPD had cars racing across
the paved yard to show us car braking,
or something safety.
Above we see the Wild West
visiting our elementary
with a special show
by Montie Montana
who rode his horse
and performed rope tricks,
he also rode in many parades
for years, and was in my daughter
Jessica's Homecoming in the 1980's
@ Verdugo High School.

• NEW NOHO HIGH SCHOOL

thank
you

Roy !

YES. Thank Roy Romer for getting our LAUSD
up on its feet into the future of education.
At no time in this City's history has any
leader listened to all critics, while gaining the
success of building 150 new schools for our community.

As I have said before, our Teachers know how
to educate, this is the 21st Century. There was
NEVER a school leader who has accomplished
so much, also dealing with a vast array of what
we may call assessors, and by the way,
where were they before anyway?
Roy has heard all and tried to answer all.
But his main concern was putting all of us
into the destiny of education where community,
students and their parents are required to start,
finish and continue this educational process.

So, go ahead and ramble and fume all you
want, you never were even able to before
in L.A. school history. And our history was
about 130 years ago when the city fathers
with businesses set up the first schools.
And in the 1930's when many of our
schools were W.P.A. Projects...
I do not think you teach a child anything
by filling their heads with financial woes
that we make up as part of our bargaining
or journalistic efforts.

Thus, we the educational community
salute and say Thank You
Roy Romer.
