• JAZZ from PEEDRO
Joe Baiza's Congress Of
Out in the other end of L.A. we find
San Pedro, known by locals as "Peedro".
Long time friend Mike Brady has his
2Catz Studio on 7th St. and has been
giving once a month open house and
live music. March gave DOS a 2 bass
playing group from former Black Flag
bass Kira Roessler and Minutemen's
Mike Watt. ALSO playing was JOE BAIZA
from Sacharine Trust with his jazz group CONGRESS OF,
and you can see them right here, ENJOY.
SOME THINGS I SEE IN SAN PEDRO ARE LIKE NoHo, lots of
art galleries along with music to celebrate the arts and community.

• NoHo's NEW MONOLITH
Here we are again, what is this soon to be
completed NoHo MONOLITH across from
the Metro Station. On the corner of Chandler
and Lankershim where my Mom used to go
to her local drugstore. What is it I say...

COMINGS & GOINGS
On Laurel Cyn near Victory was the Valley Plaza
which had many shops and the Sears is still there
but a bunch of stores in an area north of the
department store is now the not yet completed
Romer Middle School. I remember stores that
you entered from the outside like the five & dime
Woolworth's (like a 99cent store), Wetherby Kaiser,
a men and women's shoe store and up till demolition
for the school the See's Candy store still stood.
Here is a 2005 and 2006 view of the area I used to shop with my Mom,
and the newest middle school coming up
named after former Supt Romer.
• Los Angeles' Comings and Goings
Yes, it is
and soon to reopen
deaths and politics
Columbia Square on Sunset near Vine.
Classic CBS Radio Studios and for years
CBS local TV. Now, say bye bye to this
Hollywood History. The Hollywood
Palladium where I saw the likes of the
TEENAGE FAIR (60's) The WHO (70's)
or the first PORNO for PYROS (90's) this venue
which goes back to the 1930's and the BIG
BANDS is slated to be gone also.
Across Sunset Blvd from these 30's relics is the
EARL CARROL THEATER which became the
Moulin Rouge with red and black decore, this was
the 50's, at the end of that decade ABC used it for
a daily show called QUEEN FOR A DAY in
which women contestants vied for washing
machines and such. I remember it in the
60's when I was in High School going to
radio dj DAVE HULL's HULLABALOO.
Later in the 70's it was jazzed up for prime
rock and called the Aquarius Theatre.
Now it is NICKELODIUM Hollywood.
...and this too...

Sunland Tujunga & North Hollywood
are the City of Los Angeles,
California in the U.S.A.
We also live in the County of Los Angeles
this is the evil maybe x-logo that has that
G-d reference, and other stuff of the devils.
The County has used for it decades, WHO KNEW?
We can always make fun of ourselves
as with the fake-logo for Kalifoana.
With this neighborhood blog about
these cities with unique
historys and lifestyles,
we will shed some humor
and truths concerning our
