-CRESCENTA VALLEY LOOKS DOWN ON DOWNTOWN
Sunland Tujunga is in the north end of the Crescenta Valley
as you go down the 210 towards Pasadena you can slide off
onto the 2 into L.A. This is the same Fwy used by Ponch and
Jon back in the CHIPS days.
You know why some of the streets up in La Crescenta
and Montrose have names like Oceanview because you
CAN SEE the ocean out there past DOWNTOWN which
is that small thing in the back of the next 3 pics.
-CSI NOHO?
I was riding home down Oxnard going west towards home
when I see a side street to my left blocked off, and ahead
Whitnall Hwy also blocked. I say to myself, FINALLY they
are going to pave Whitnall Hwy that is 4 blocks of potholes.
Then I notice a motor officer, NO, YES, but he's doing
MOVIE DUTY. And there down the street you could see
the gaggle of Hollywood producing something. Lights Camera
and the Action came in these pics (all pics above and the 3
below are from my nokia phonecam)... I see this SUV and it says
LAS VEGAS POLICE....CRIME LAB. What else, it is not
CSI NOHO it is the show CSI LAS VEGAS obviously filmed
right here in North Hollywood, Ca.

THIS IS LOS ANGELES AND THE VALLEYS.
HOLLYWOOD MOVIEMAKING at its finest. Yes, that is
OUR GOVERNATOR in his last epic FILMED in
SUNLAND TUJUNGA, right on the border of the two
cities at Foothill & Mt. Gleason. -TERMINATOR 3 !

-SUNLAND TUJUNGA EATS
Being hungry is one thing we like to take care of.
That early evening 'I do not want to cook' syndrom
takes hold, get the keys, let's go to JIMMY DEANS
Right at the same corner the 'little old lady' got the fine
for moving too slowly at Foothill & Woodward on the
northwest corner seen here on this video pan first showing
the old kmart, where the drive-in was, then shows the
crosswalk the lady got fined and then JIMMY DEANS.
You can eat inside or outside or use the drive-thru.
Hamburgers, hot dogs (ask them to grill 'em)
malts, shakes, fries, onion rings...
our hometown hangout.

at Foothill Summitrose and Mt. Gleason.

I have included a menu that might be out of date
but shows their delicious dinner items. I always
try to the PRIME RIB salad baked potato and
of course their special toasted garlic bread.
They have Specials daily that include seafood.
The Bar is one of Sunland Tujunga's favorite
wateringholes. Sports TV and lively chat fill the air.
...and don't forget the cheese toast.

-VALLEY PLAZA MEMORIES
Here is a remainder of Valley Plaza.
Radio Shack and Smart & Final occupy a building the I
say was an original inside mall. The Radio Shack area
where shops which you would enter right inside the
Thriftimart Market. As you walked in to the right was
a kiosk like shoe repair. There was also a Chef's
Chicken BBQ. Further north the other buildings
included DRUCKERS Kosher Deli, a Jewish Bakery
and the Thrifty Drug with a fountain at the back.
The market at Archwood was originally called
Mac Donald's Market with a Scotsman logo.
